Our Mission is to coordinate a Complex Emergency Management System of Prevention, Protection, Mitigation, Response and Recovery to Protect the Lives, Environment & Property of the Citizens of Henderson County which includes the Cities of Henderson, Corydon and Robards.
What is Emergency Management (EM)?
EM focuses on preparing for, responding to, recovering from, and mitigating the impacts of emergencies and disasters. It involves four main phases:
- Preparedness: Planning and training for potential emergencies.
- Mitigation: Strategies to reduce risks and impacts of future disasters.
- Response: Immediate actions to ensure safety and provide assistance.
- Recovery: Restoring normalcy and rebuilding after a disaster.
It requires collaboration among government, non-profits, businesses, and communities to enhance resilience.
